![]() ![]() Taunting an enemy will make him capable of guard-breaking your defense. Sam's charged attacks are particularly effective after taunting enemies due to this effect to give you a practical example, on Revengeance difficulty a Heavy Armored/Berserker Cyborg will be ready for an execution finisher if you Taunt him and then you attack him with a single charged Y attack.Ħ. This means that not only a Taunted enemy takes much more damage, but he will also be subject to limb-severing from your blade. Taunting an enemy will make him weak just like if Sam was in Ripper Mode. The Taunt is more powerful on Revengeance difficulty, making Revengeance once again easier to some extents when compared to the lower difficulty settings (in the main game it was the parry-counter that made Revengeance easy).ĥ. There are no downsides for interrupting a Taunt, and therefore you should always spam A+X after your targets have been taunted: unless you have enough room to be able to enjoy Sam's badassery, there is no reason to sit and wait until the animation is complete.Ĥ. You can interrupt the animation of a Taunt only by performing a dodge ( A+X). Also keep in mind that Taunts have a long range of effect, but if an enemy is too far he won't be affected.ģ. You will typically kill the enemies before the Taunt effect vanishes, but keep in mind that it's not permanent. The Taunt will "wear off" the enemies periodically. This is how you can recognize a Taunted enemy.Ģ. A Taunted enemy will have a red aura around his body. Taunting enemies is a double-edged sword, which on the one hand makes your attack stronger against them, but on the other hand makes your defense weaker. The Taunt is one of the most important aspects of the gameplay of the new character, and it's important that you learn to use the Taunt properly in order to succeed in the new battles. Be particularly careful when using Taunts, as we're going to explain in a moment. ![]() This happened to Raiden in some specific fights too, and it will occur quite often as Sam during this DLC. Sam may occasionally take damage from enemies' attacks even while parrying. However, he can use a special move, a "Taunt", by pressing D-Pad_Up.ģ. Sam can't enter Ripper Mode, and he doesn't have AR Mode available. Neither move gives him invincibility frames, but they can be useful both for platforming and for fighting reasons (especially to get to airborne enemies more quickly).Ģ. Sam can double-jump (press A while in mid-air for the second jump) and he can also perform an aerial dash (press RT and LS in any direction while in the air). ![]() Sam doesn't have secondary weapons, and he won't acquire more weapons or abilities later either therefore everything is available by default.Īmong the other things, three particular features are worth pointing out:ġ. It will take a while to assimilate his new movesets, but it's necessary to invest some time into learning if you wish to obtain the harder achievements of this DLC.īefore getting far into this new experience, it's advisable to check Sam's moves by pressing Start to open the pause menu, and then Help to check his moveset. Sam is a much harder and less user-friendly character to control, so be prepared and expect a tough time during this intense story episode. The only other thing somehow in common between Raiden and Sam are the difficulty settings: unlocking a difficulty with Raiden will unlock it with Sam too. Sam also has his own set of abilities and usable items (Repair Nanopaste and similar objects are separate from those of Raiden's inventory). ![]()
